Commerce Quarterly covers the business side of online retail: what it costs to build a store, what it costs to run one, and where the margin actually goes. We publish cost breakdowns built from real price lists, recurring indexes we maintain ourselves, and briefings on the numbers moving ecommerce.
Every price we print is sourced: a public price list, a filing, or a dataset we link. Indexes state their composition and are recalculated on a fixed schedule. When estimates are unavoidable, we show the range and the assumption behind it.
